Our room booked through the club was very large and nicely furnished and comfortable, with a great view from the 16th floor. We ate at Don Vito's, the Silverado Steak House, Big Sur Oyster Bar, the Garden Buffet and the Del Mar Deli and the food at all of them was wonderful.
For future reference, the gift shop close to the guest room elevators stocks lots of great wines and liquors at prices that rival or beat the grocery stores.
We're not big gamblers, but it was refreshing to see a $5 minimum on the craps and blackjack tables at night, which I think is lower than a lot of the Strip hotels. The minimum on roulette, where we played and had a blast was $1. They also had a ton of different slot machines too. I played poker for the first time live in the convention poker tournament and would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the game. Of course I would have liked to play a bit LONGER, but maybe next year.
I understand that next year the convention will also be held at the South Point, so start making plans to attend now.
The convention floor had lots of great chips, tokens, strikes, slot cards, playing cards, dice, postcards, matches, swizzle sticks and just about everything else casino related for sale. Here are a couple of my favorites that I picked up:
