I don't especially like the coffee pods that come in the hotel rooms. They're not bad, they're just taste "blah".
Each pod makes one cup of coffee. It seems to be pretty standard that the in-room coffee maker comes with 2 regular and 2 decaf pods (South Point also includes 2 Lipton tea bags) daily. I won't drink decaf and 1 cup of coffee just doesn't cut it for me in the morning (Darrell gets the 2nd cup of coffee).
I now make it a point to shop at my local grocery store and look for the "single serve" coffee sold by Folgers (red box). These are coffee-filled tea bags made to just dunk into a cup of hot water....they are PERFECT for in-room coffee makers. They also fit very flat into a corner of your suitcase (they come individually wrapped so you won't have to worry about any mess).
A much better cup of coffee in the morning - and you can pack enough for a second cup if you want.
