Just got home from the Rio...

...I ended up getting knocked out just at the start of the 6th level.

I had about 3,000 left & it was the first hand of the Hold'em round. I was two seats to the right of the button & everyone folded to me. I had AJ of spades & raised. The only caller was the small blind. The flop comes 10 8 K with the 10 & 8 being diamonds & the King was a club. He checks & I bet hoping he will just fold & we can go on to the next hand. He calls though & the turn comes with a Q of clubs. I now have the nuts at this point with the ace high straight. He checks I bet & he raises. I re-raise & he does the same. After playing over 6 hours with him I know he is not re-raising with a set. So, I figure we had the same hand. I was worried though that he had either AJ of diamonds or clubs & had a flush draw. At that point I only had one bet left after calling his re-raise & bet it. Sure enough he did have the AJ of clubs & a 5 of clubs came on the river.

Nice kid though, as we had talked quite a bit during the tournament, hopefully he'll put my chips to good use. He was all in with just 325 left before the dinner break & rivered a 5 for a wheel during the Razz round to survive. After the break he went on a run & after busting me he had to have at least 12,000.

I was just checking the updates for the tournament & ran across what you see below. That had to happen shortly after I got knocked out, but that was the table I was at. Katja was moved next to me about two hours into the tournament. Marco was moved to our table shortly after that. Andy - Las Vegas
