We stayed at Caesars during the Alan King Tennis Classic. I remember playing blackjack at the same table as Arthur Ashe. What I remember most was Arthur eying my new bride Teri as she walked around the "pit" at Caesars as she visited, bucket in hand, each and every slot machine. Paul Anka visited was also a frequent visitor to the gambling pit (which is still there!) at Caesars. Seeing Joe Louis standing near the entrance greeting visitors was, I must say, a bit sad to see.
As I recall, dinner shows and midnight shows were the same price ($20 to $30?). Of course I always had the prime rib dinner show in lieu of the 2 drink midnight show.
My last memory is of walking up to each and every coin booth (both Teri and I separately) in the Flamingo, Caesars, Sands and a few others that I can't remember and getting 4 packs of drilled cards. I must have returned home with 150 to 200 decks of cars I don't know if it was worth anything but it was fun getting.
