I stayed at the Sands in Vegas in the 70's--1975 as I recall. I received a card that like today you put into the slots and it tracked play and gave points of some kind. As I do now from time to time I left my card in a machine and when I went back to get it, the card was gone; I went to the cage and there I was told that while I could get a new card it would not have previous information on it--there was no central computer apparently. I was "ticked"--and tho I did get a new card didn't use it and tossed it away when I got home.
