I've seen (or maybe I have) reeded edge chips with a ridge running down the middle of the reeded edge. That would indicate that each half of the die is reeded and then pressed together. That doesn't seem to jive with what Blanchard told me. He said that Burt didn't have the equipment to make a reeded edge. That would seem to imply that another process is applied to the edge after it is first presssed.
Bottom line is I don't know how it was done.
I know of no other chip with a tapered edge. My first thought is that, due to its small size, it is tapered to make it easier to pick up. PIf larger, it probably woudn't have a tapered edge.
I don't see anything odd with the SC. Looks like a typical rounded edge.
