This is PVC damage caused from a flip that that is NOT PVC free. Polyvinyl chloride is a chemical which makes plastic flips pliable ... and also causes chemical reactions on coins, tokens, medals ... and CHIPS that are stored in these flips for a long period of time! Not only do some inferior flips cause this chemical reaction ... but so do some 3-ring 20 & 30 pocket pages and albums that are not PVC free. I also wonder about some of the cleaners I've read on this message board that some chippers are applying to some of their chips to make them look more attractive. Who knows what effects these chemicals are going to have on chips years down the road?
