Ok, Sun. at Pechanga, they had a 30,000.00 free roll. If a player played at least 40 hrs. the last six weeks they were invited. 40hrs = 1500 chips, 60 hrs= 2500 chips 80 hrs = 3500 chips. I asked last week how many show up for this freeroll, they said usally about 400 players. I woke up Sun. and just about did'nt go, as I said to myself 400 players is almost impossible to get in the money. But it's a free roll and went. Talking to friends before the 2PM start,(we finished at 6PM), they all said the object was to get to the last 3 tables 30 players, as they always chop 1,000 each. Sure enough they had 42 tables (420) players. I played very tight and folded 90% of my hands, but played very agressive with good cards. Must of gone all in 8-10 times. Anyway, made the last 3 tables, and was very, very happy thinking I would go home with a grand. But, top chip leader with 100,000, ( I had 50,000 left) said NO to the chop. Blinds were now 10,000/ 5,000, so a few bad hands and your gone, most players very upset with no chop.10th place paid 150.00, and you had to be 7th to get over the grand. So we played for another 30 mins, got down to 18 players, top chip leader lost a couple big hands and finally said chop. So, it turned out better for me, as the split was 1658.00. I was very excited and happy to get some go out of town $ as, I'm leaving for Europe Sat. The big hand that got me to the 3rd table was when we were down to 5 tables, I had about 10 grand in chips, with blinds at 6 grand/3 grand. I was first to act with pocket duces, and went all in. I had three callers, 2 all in. Flop came duce XX, the other 3 players all had pairs, AA JJ and 10-10. the trip duces held up, and that put me in a sit back aND WAIT position. It's sure fun when you win. My lucky day. Had to share with BOARD poker fans. Sorry so long.
