The ones whose guesses were close...

...probably did a little studying.

The last one I saw for auction was in Doug Saito's pre-convention auction (XV) last June. It sold for $2,400.

The one before that was in Doug's 2007 pre-convention auction (XIII) in August of 2006. That one sold for $1,900 but was a little faded on one side.

James' current book has the chip listed for $2,400 in slightly used condition. The upcoming eleventh edition of The Chip Rack has the chip listed as a Z4 (value $2,400 - upgraded from the Z2 value in the tenth edition).
