I was just digging around through some 'stuff' and ran across these tickets to the Las Vegas Birthday Bash in 2005.

May of 2005 was the 100th anniversary of the land auction that is recognized as the founding of Las Vegas. Being Las Vegas they had to do something big, and it was decided that the world's largest birthday cake would be a good start. Of course, the whole town was invited...and I managed to get a couple of the invitations.

My hubby and I were downtown at the Plaza, playing 100-play pennies. My husband looked up and saw Mayor Goodman standing nearby, he jumped up and went over to shake the mayor's hand and ask for his autograph. Of course my hubby expected me to come up with a piece of paper for the autograph! I had a couple of the birthday bash invites in my purse, as souvenirs since we were going to be out of town on the 15th, and presented that to the mayor for his signature. I didn't realize he was going to personalize the autograph, or I would have asked for one, too ! Oh well....
