South Korea casinos

I'm posting this in response to 'Midnight' Rose Cooper's request for info about South Korea. I'm currently in Seoul, the capitol of South Korea and will return home in early June (when it starts getting pretty hot here).

All casinos require a foreign passport to gain entry, except for Kangwon Land Casino in Kangwondo.

There are three casinos in Seoul; 7 Luck Gangnam, 7 Luck Millennium Seoul Hilton and Paradise Walker Hill. and all require a foreign passport to gain entry.

There is one casino in Incheon; Golden Gate Casino. You can see it right after driving out of the International Airport.

There are two casinos in Busan (also called Pusan), the second largest city; 7 Luck Lotte and Paradise Busan Casino. It's an hour by plane or almost three hours by "KTX" (fast train).

There are numerous casinos on an island called Cheju (also called Jeju) and people say the island is like Hawaii. I'm from Hawaii and I don't get the similarities. vbg It's about an hour away by plane.

There are other casinos in small towns that are not easily accessible unless you are driving.

I've tried to purchase chips at the cashier's cage at numerous casinos but to no avail; you must buy them at the gaming tables. Usually I settle down at a blackjack table, buy the chips I want, play a few hands and leave.

Most, if not all, roulette chips are generic.

Right now the US to Korean Won conversion rate is very favorable to the dollar so it's a good time to visit here.

First timer shopping must visit areas are Itaewon (most people speak English) and Namdaemun Market. For fashionable trends go shopping at Myeongdong and Apgujeong-dong.

I find the subway system extremely user friendly and I can get almost anywhere using their system. Buy a "T-Money" card (transportation card) for the best value. You wave it over a reader before and after entering a subway train station or bus and it automatically subtracts the fare. You can buy a card at any subway station and re-charge it at a machine with English instructions.

South Korea is really high tech with people watching tv on their cellular phone while on the subway. You can even pay the subway fare, taxi fare, bus fare or everyday bills with your phone. Being from Hawaii I'm simply amazed at their technology. We don't have these things back home.

Want to use the internet? They have internet establishments called "PC Bang" that charge about 75 cents an hour for access.

South Korea is a great place to visit and it's especially safe here. Of course you must be aware of your surroundings but it's basically a safe place. I know it's safer than Hawaii.
