In no particular order...and not exactly ten...
When I first thought about posting some cool postcards, this is one of the very first cards I thought of. I just love the plane flying over the arch! The Stag is at the base of the arch, on the left.
I loved the Nevada Club, and the logo
This was in the Skyroom, at the Mapes. I love that everyone is dressed up (I know, it was a photo shoot, but people DID dress up back then! ), and I love the role reversal... the ladies were around the table, there's a man in the background playing the slot machine
I used to think this was the original Reno arch. Eventually I learned that there was a wooden arch before this one was erected...in the 1930's I think (maybe 1920's??)
The classic Harold's Club...next to the 'unknown' Slot Machine Arcade...I like cards that show the little places
I like the Colbrandt's Flamingo in this one...though a flag covers part of the Colbrandt's name
Harrah's in 1965...still a small club
I like the way the old places were open to the sidewalk...they made it easy to just wander in...
The Palace, Wine House...in the background you can see the Rolo Casino...gotta love it!
It's hard to find postcards from some places, but this card shows a few of the signs, anyway...Dog House, 116 Club and Leon & Eddies are a few of the signs shown
I don't know if this is really in Reno, but it's cool! I love the old one-armed bandits!
