I thought that I got a bad piece when I saw the flattened edge. However, I notice that the $5 piece illusstrated in the "Official Guide" also has the flattened edge. I seem to recall hearing that they are all like this. Anyone have an explanation?

I happened to also think that this this is one pretty chip. It is in GREAT condition (except for the hole and flat edge, duh!). The chip has "$25" in place of the picture of the nugget on the reverse. The chip is available for c&s trading or possible sale also.
