Being a transplant from the northeast to Chicagoland, I have not found this to be the norm. IMHO New York drivers are the champion "lean on the horn" drivers. If Chicago drivers are guilty of anything it is that they are not satisfied unless they are in front of you--then you wind up next to them at the next light.
