During my journalism days, I wrote a piece about a proposal to shift to metric time - the day would have 10 hours divided by 100 minutes divided by 100 seconds. There would be a conversion period where 5:00 (new time - "NT") would also be referred to as Noon OT (old time).
We ran it in the satire newspaper instead.
A few years later my sister mailed me an article - a professor in India was proposing essentially the same idea.
