...time I have posted on the board in about 7 weeks. For those that did not know, as I never posted it on the board, the person who was the family member that was in ill health was my Mom, Catherine Hughes. She had fallen down in her house just after Thanksgiving in 2007 & broke her hip & the next 14 months were hell for her. She passed away on February 17th under hospice care. At the bottom of this post is a list of the places (and number of times in each) she was in over the last 14 months. It was one thing after another. The reason I missed the convention last year was because she had aspirated while in rehab & was on a ventilator for 4 days, they did not think she would make it. But, she has always been a fighter & pulled through that.

One thing I have learned in the last 14 months is that you can not always depend on getting the best care, just because you are in the hospital or rehab or assisted living. No matter how much you are paying for the care they are suppose to be giving you. And if you do not have someone to watch out for you, you are at their mercy. That was not always the case in every place my Mom was at in these last 14 months, but enough so in some of them that you really have to be wary anytime you have someone in that position. One place I can not say enough good things about is Odyssey Hospice on East Flamingo. They were fantasic both times my Mom was there. Plus they had her on hospice care while she was in the Cottages of Green Valley the 2nd time.

As most of you know, all you can do is remember the good times & go on from there. My Mom lived a long & enjoyable life, it's just too bad that the last 14 months were so tough on her. My thanks again to those I have talked to through E-Mail, on the phone & those who sent cards. I really appreciate everything.

As to Nevada Casino Chips...I'm leaning towards starting back up around the end of October. We'll see if that works out.
