This may sound odd, but rubbing skin-oil onto the chip can help with that type of dryness.
It will help bring out the true color of the chip, too.
What I mean by skin-oil is that oil from say your face, on the side of your nose or on your forehead.
Rub your fingers on the side of your nose, then transfer that skin-oil to the chip by gently rubbing it in.
Or take the chip and gently rub it against your forehead ... then gently rub the oil in.
I know .... sounds too strange, right!?!
But it works, and when you think about it, it's natural for a chip when being played to be exposed to our skin-oils when constantly being handled at the gaming tables. I don't clean too many chips, but if I do and then find the chip too dry, it's the closest thing I've been able to think of to help in a natural way to offset that dryness.
Wondering now what kind of responses this weird comment will bring ... please be kind ;-)
