$20 Chip of the Day - Union Plaza Pan 5th Issue

Up today is the 5th Issue Pan Tournament Chip from the Union Plaza:

As you can see, the denomination was overstamped with "no cash value" at some point.

I'm afraid I don't know much about this chip-- it's use, history, or even what the game of 'Pan' was or how it was played grin. I have seen more of these come up on eBay than what would seem to be associated with an R-9, so perhaps there is a story behind that as well that didn't make it into the latest edition of James' book.

If anyone has any details on the above questions, please enlighten us! grin

The players play against each other and when a
Panguingue (pronounced "pan-ginn'-gay"),
I guess I partly killed these chips.
I thought I had seen some come up on the Board...
