After a few months of extra free time with the wife and daughter (not that I'm complaining about that part) following a "strategic reassessment" at my former employer, I just got back from mailing off the paperwork for a new job that begins next Monday. Hooray!

With the future now more secure (at least as much as it can be in the current economic climate), it's easy to wish that I had just a couple more weeks off, but ultimately having a job is more effective at letting me save up for more diapers, mini-vans, braces, college, and all of the other pleasurable perquisites of parenthood.

In any case, I'm ready to celebrate a bit: the first item on the docket is to acquire the younger sibling of the following:

I was number 62 last time, but I think Museum Fund II chip number 73 has my name on it this go around-- a very good vintage I hear!
