I sure had fun talking to Sharkey in the old day's
We would stop on the way to Tahoe every year and most of the time Sharkey was in the casino. He was a one of a kind, if he like you he had a bib heart. I purchased an old Mills slot machine .25 from him. still have it works perfect. He told me many old interesting stories. Kicked Bud beer out because they wouldn't donate a couple cases of beer, for his yearly charity event for the town. Had a big disagreement with Red Skelton, as Red stopped , and wanted to purchase a neat oil painting of Red preforming in Vegas. He was going to sell the painting at a reasonable price, but Red started telling him what he was going to pay and not a penny over. This pissed off Sharkey, and told Red, not for sale at any price. Many stories of his rodeo day's, had a wonderful display of Cassey Tibbs silver saddles and other stuff. A tough short guy, boxer, rodeo rider and casino owner in Gardnerville. He alo, had a lot of stories of Pappa Harrah's, and some drunken affairs, for another day.
