... I am about to upgrade my printer/scaner. I have narrowed it down to 1 (I think), an Epson Artison 800. I have used HP for as long as I can remember but the Epson is IMO outweighing the HP.

I want to print labels directly onto CD/DVD's so I am limitd in what's out there. Both HP and Epson have good points and bad points, but they both do a great gob. I have used both (a little) in the store. I scaned a banknote and a pink chip, and printed. The Epson and the HP are almost too close to call. The Epson says their ink is water resistant, and that is true (I kept a print and put water on it- no smudges), I forgot the HP print to test with water. Both have 5670 x 1444 resolution. The Epson costs more, but not a real factor here.

Anyone have an opinion here? Epson Artison 800 owners? HP owners? Anyone using CD Printers?

I am close to buying... within a day or so.
