I don't think there's the interest there used to be in LE's (chips made to be collected). I stopped collecting these several years ago (with a few exceptions) and didn't bother to nominate any LE as Chip of the Year, since I saw no reason to encourage more of these issues.

Also the idea of submitting your candidate for the best chip issued this year seemed to me to be questionable since NO collector could see all the chips issued in the USA to judge his candidate by. This was an activity that was appropriate in the early days of special chip issue but now best left to the archives, in my opinion.

For those of us who collect older chips, there are plenty of them to honor; I'm just not sure how to do it, other than to bid on them when offered in the Club Auction.
