30th Anniversary, mint, special, rare, casino quality, limited edition, souvenir playing card deck for the original 1977 "Star Wars" (a/k/a "Star Wars IV: A New Hope") -- each card has a different movie scene photo with concept paintings/storyboard art
DESCRIPTION: Never used deck of poker-sized (2-1/2" wide), 30th Anniversary Collector Limited Edition playing cards of the original Star Wars (1977) movie, which has now been re-titled "Star Wars IV: A New Hope." This is a rare deck; I own just this one deck. I couldn't find even one on eBay! You will be getting (all in mint condition, pictured above):
* the 52-plus-3-jokers deck of playing cards in its shiny card box. Each card generally features two different colored pictures: (1) rare concept paintings, drawings or storyboard art, and (2) a photo of the resulting actual scene from the motion picture! Some examples are given below.
* a Certificate of Authenticity for this limited edition playing card deck. The one being auctioned here is #343.
* a 4" x 5" x 1" presentation box, satin lined housing for this rare, special deck. The box, which opens like a book, is entitled "Star Wars 30, A New Hope."

I'll give two examples of the great cards in this deck, each one different and in color:
* the king of hearts shows the storyboard (artist's sketch) of Luke firing the quad laser cannon aboard the "Millennium Falcon." Below that is a photo of how that scene looked in the movie.
* the eight of hearts shows the original concept drawing of the Decoration Ceremony -- a large celebration where awards for bravery are given to fighters against the Empire. Below that is shown the scene from the movie.
This set was prepared for the 30th anniversary of the first Star Wars film. It is an official Star Wars product, copyrighted by Lucasfilm Ltd.
