One of the things I like about Kuwait is that they name their national capital the right way: Kuwait City. Just think how much better kids would be at geography if all nations took their cue from Kuwait, Mexico, and Panama.
Yes, and it would help if all 57 states did that too! But isn't Panama City in FLORIDA??
I often speak to 5th graders at the end of the school year, it's an all-day thing that the kids love. I am suprised that the 5th graders are actually better at geography than older junior high kids. Neither are very sharp, but the 5th graders are not expected to be. I wonder sometimes if junior high kids know where TEXAS is! (I KNOW high school kids don't they are are BRAIN DEAD, I have one!)
