As a kid, I remember a product called Lik-em-Aid it was also a powdered product but the kids used to consume it by opening the little envelopes and sprinkling the powder on the back of their hand and licking it off, hence the name.

I would suggest that as an alternative for mass homicides especially in Mexico. After all you wouldn't want to get sick from the water would you?
