Speaking of fantistic stuff, I read your book, The Roots of Reno. Fantastic history there! I had been under the impression that Pappy Smith and Bill Harrah were the guys that put Reno on the map. Turns out, they had to play by George's rules. It was also interesting to learn why the mob had so much influence in Vegas and so little in Reno. Again, George and Nick already owned Reno and Vegas was wide open when the mob figured out Nevada was a profitable place to play. Thanks for doing all the research and getting this information down in such an interesting book.
Now, how about a book that really focuses on the contributions by Bill and the Smiths? It was absolutely captivating when Dwayne told stories of working for the Smiths at a recent Nor Cal Nev meeting.
