They are no good at all, even if more consumers buy cars made by the big 3. The big 3 can't make a profit with their current overhead. Toyota and Chevy can produce a comparable car (here in America) and place it on the showroom floor at the same price. When the Chevy dealer sells that car, GM doesn't make a profit. The Toyota sale does make a profit. The only cure to the problems being faced by the big 3 is Chapter 11 restructuring. Otherwise, they will continue to need taxpayer dollars funneled into their industry to survive.
