I don't usually respond to these threads, but I was one of the people originally interested in some of your chips, and I think this is where part of the problem lies.
If you want to be a "chipper" you will find that this is a great hobby, MOST (not all, nothing is ever 100%) folks here mean well and are friendly. This is generally the level we try to communicate on. Many here would rather see you keep your chips and join the club!
If you are looking to squeeze every last cent you can out of your sales, list the chips on eBay, promote them here, and be done with it! No one will think less of you.....this is America!!! Free markets rule!!! (or do they still?!?!?!)!
Finally, I don't know if you know this yet, but beware of guide book values. They generally do not mesh with the real world. Much of the time, chips sell at 30-50% of guide book values, and I have EXTENSIVE data to back that statement up. So if the book says your chip is worth $1,000.00, and an astute collector offers you $450, he/she is NOT trying to rip you off. Now if the same person tells you the chip is worth $50, that is another story!
My attempt at trying to make nice. It is nice that you apologized, and as a said, most people here tend to give others the benefit of the doubt.
Good luck with your sales!
