Thanks Bill for the kind words but when you are a kid without money all you can do is sit on the stoop with your friends and argue about the year and model of these cars.
Recently Ralph posted a picture of a 1957 Olds. That was my first car and like I said then at 4262 lbs. it was one of the closest things to a Sherman Tank you could imagine.

Phyllis. Thanks so much for posting the pictures. Unless i'm mistaken , the Caddy pictured is an Eldorado Biarritz, the top of the line from a year when they splashed on chrome all over the place.
I can just imagine what that car is worth today in fine condition. One might be able to afford it but that thing drank more gas than a parched camel drinking water

In the 50's and 60's with the exception of cars like the Thunderbird, there was usually a radical body style change every year and as kids we couldn't wait to see what next years models looked like.
Unfortunate as it is, in this day and age, few cars retain an identity as they all blend into one big blur of of rounded corner boxes
