If you join, hopefully, you can expect the following:

• add some nice new chips to your collection
  
• upgrade the condition of existing chips in your collection
  
• diversify your traders a bit
  
• enjoy participating in a fun trading event

Here are the parameters I would like to set forth:

• The shotgun will consist of $1 casino, ship and card room table chips from the Americas (no roulettes, ncv's, fantasy, personals, ...)
  
• A maximum of 8 participants will be involved. That way we can all have an idea on how many traders we will need to participate (from 14-28 depending on the participant level of all that join - see below)
  
• Each chip must be in excellent condtion (no exceptions). It does not have to be uncirculated, but edges should be square, no rim nicks, no noticeable scratches, centered inlays, crisp hotstamps, no other noticeable blemishes, ...
  
• You can not send a chip to someone from his/her home state
  
• NO chips from Nevada, NO chips from Atlantic City (most/many of us have plenty of these)
  
• You can send the same chips to different participants, but no duplicates to any one participant
  
• You must be a member of the to participate

In order not to exclude too many chippers, I would like to once again incorporated a feature I have included in the past. Normally shotguns are pre-defined at a certain chip level - for example everyone sends/receives exactly 3 chips to/from each participant. I would like to offer the following: you can participate at a 2, 3 or 4 chip level. This is to help those that may not have a bunch of qualifying traders. Your participation level will be identified to all. You will only send/receive chips between each participant at the lower participation level. (i.e. If I participate at a 4 chip level and you at a 2 chip level, you will send me 2 chips and I will send you 2 chips). I may be sending/receiving 3 or 4 chips to/from others depending on their participation level. If you participate at a 2 chip level you will need 14 traders that meet the above criteria (participation at a 3 chip level will require from 14-21 chips, participating at a 4 chip level will require from 14-28 chips - both depending on the participation level of the other participants).

For those of you who are unsure how a shotgun works, here is a brief explanation:

• If you want to participate, send me an e-mail indicating you would like to participate along with your desired participation level, your mailing address and your membership number. You can additionally post a reply here to if you want, but I would advise you limit your address to a private e-mail and not a post on the board.
  
• If/When we get 8 participants, I will distribute all the addressess to all the participants via e-mail (including their level of participation)
  
• Everyone sends out 1 package to each of the other 7 participants (with a number of qualifying chips equal to the lower of the 2 participation levels between the sender and receiver)
  
• ...and now the really fun part...the USPS delivers one package from each of the other 7 participants to your mailbox

As I have done in the past for repeat participants, I will use my records of prior transactions to help assure I do not send you the same chips I have sent in the past.
