...well known pro poker players would buy up as many of the LE's that they could get their hands on from the mid 90's until about 2001. A couple, like Todd, were chip collectors. But, must of them were doing it because they thought it was a good investment. They would lock up the LE's in their safety deposit boxes in the casinos. The one who seemed to buy the most was Hans
"Tuna" Lund. He also had access to the most cash as his parents owned a number of gold mines in the state on Nevada.
The Hall of Fame tournament in 1994 had 14 events in it. It was open to anyone who had the cash & wanted to play. The winner of the no limit hold'em main event was Barry Schwartz. Todd Brunson won the limit hold'em 1st event & $105,000 cash.
