5:00 am: Up and at 'em!

5:45 am: Cooler loaded into car, time to head for Pikes Peak!

7:30 am: Get to my regular spot on the mountain, meet and greet old friends, many whom I only see once a year.

7:35 am: Open cooler, lament the fact that I'm a designated driver, chug a quart of chocolate milk for breakfest.

7:36 am thru 3:30 pm: BSing with friends, brats on the grill, lots of fast cars, motorcycles and trucks, too much sun and not enough sunscreen, the usual great time on the Peak for the annual hill climb. It was the 78th running of the race, I've been to 29 of them.

5:00 pm: Back home, sunburned, surf the BB for a bit, have a few Budweisers, watch fireworks on TV, hit the hay before 9:00.
