Thanks for the update Tim! I used to truck up in Canada and would pass the kilometers by doing C to F conversions in my head. Last trip was easy, turns out - 20 happens to converge in both scales.
record here too this winter, Portland Oregon in the NW corner of the states is pretty temperate without extremes. Snowiest year since 1950, I'd post the number of inches but all the igloo dwellers would only hoot at our pitiful dusting of snow.

As for beer, you might be missing out Tim. Our city is also known as Beervana having the most breweries in a city since we surpassed Munich. We usually have "winter warmers" that really do warm with amusing names such as SnowPlow, Snow Cap, Winter Hook, Ebineezer and Wreck the Halls. New one this year, "Brrrr". SnowPlow is my fav, a beer dark in color because of the dark chocolate, coffee and toasted malt sugar contained. While we actually don't put ice in our beer, we do like it cold.
