I've been meaning to write a sincere thank-you note to Pam Goertler for her great article in the previous CC&TN magazine. To be honest, I rarely read the articles closely (I like the pretty chip pictures) but this one caught my eye. I never knew that the west side of Vegas had such a rich history, or that Jim Crow reared its ugly head there to such a degree. About the only mentions I ever read of that side of town come with a caveat to avoid it. It did my heart good to see what people who look like me, were able to do despite adversity. It was an added bonus to see so many of my favorite old-school chips came from some of those casinos too. And the best part was, my non-chipper husband got as much enjoyment out of reading that article - and then the rest of the magazine - as I did!

I know this isn't the CC>CC board (I've never posted there, and I probably won't in the future), but if any of you speak with Ms. Goertler, please tell her that my husband and I thank her very much for that piece.
