Tom you took words out of my mouth
I was going to post most of what you said. I collect many things, Old horseracing items, talk about a dying sport, In Ca. horse racing is dying we used to get crowds of 30,000 -- 40,000 on week-ends, and 15,000--20,000 week days. Now 10,000 week-ends and 3,000 -- 4,000 week days. small fields, fewer owners, and talk about only seniors, young people could care less about Horse racing. Coin collecting is alive mainly due to the new quarter's pumped life into coin collecting. People are living longer, so our club will survive longer. The club will die when casinos go 100% electronic, without chip's. Then were toast, not sure when this will happen, but it will happen, like tokens went. I plan on enjoying this hobby while I can, go to yearly convention, and keep making friends. The people are thr best part of our club. A true confession I love harvesting, Rou. chips, NCV chips, TITO, matches, ect. I find it thrilling, a game within the game.
