Actually, mine closed up 12/31/08...
That was the last day for the liquidation sale and then they closed up for good for 1 location near me. They started out with near-full prices, and possibly raised the prices in preparation for the 'sale'. Then they dropped cds to 50% off and I actually found 2 that I already wanted so good deal for me! It isn't Circuit City anymore the merchandise is owned by the liquidators who are able to negotiate. So one could wait until they are about to close up for good and make an offer on whats left. It is a gamble cuz you either go now while they still have a lot of stuff but not much of a discount or wait and get a great deal on not much to choose from...
Same thing happenned when Linens n Things went out of business, they started with 10% off and the last few days were at 75% off.
If you don't know what you want before you go (such as a particular size and spec of tv) or want some info from an associate you probably aren't going to buy anything because its hard to tell whats what...Kinda like it was when shopping at Circuit City normally! I just shopped at Best Buy again today instead of bothering with CC. After my 10% coupon, my $5 reward cert., and my $20 gift card I did alright!
