Good question, Westen. I actually have a note here to question these two myself.

Part of the answer lies in the 2002 Club Auction catalog. I don't have mine at work, but that's where the attribution of the light brown one came from... the then authors of TCR had it as LIGHT BROWN and I also independently (eyeballed) listed it as the same color in my auction database. James lists LAVENDER as the only color $5 diamond mold with no inserts matching this description.

If someone has a lavender one and could post a scan in this thread, that would be great.
