The Pheasant Run had THE best set up for any pool tournament I have ever been to or run myself, which is quite a few. About 80 big tables in one massive room. Then another room with about 40 bar tables. And the walk between the two seemed like at least a mile, never leaving the building. Plus each room had overhead seating to watch the matches. Sky box type areas in the big table room.
The first year at the Pheasant Run is where I got the idea for the cue below this post. A Chicago pro named Billy Incardona who I knew from Los Angeles, had just picked up a custom cue all in black & white. Liked it so much I had one made for myself by my firend Jerry Franklin, with a couple of changes.
For those that know a little about pool, in '91 the "Black Widow", Jeanette Lee, made her first big appearance on the pool scene, there at the Pheasant Run. Her first match she comes into the room wearing a full length black mink coat & dressed all in black. Turned heads because of that & then later because she really could play pool.
The 2nd year Reba McIntyre was suppose to play there, a number of pool players had tickets, but her entire band was killed in a plane crash a few days before she was to arrive.
They never had the pool tournament there for a 3rd year. Or else I would have been there again. Andy - Las Vegas
