Question on EBay Ethics------WebKitFormBoundary9E0

Whenever I'm thinking about bidding on an expensive chip I usually ask the seller whether he (or she) has information that would raise the estimated quantity that is listed in the price guides. I try to word the question carefully and usually get some sort of non-answer (I just have the one for sale. I don't know exactly how many exist. I'm selling it for someone else. etc.) All these answers say nothing about a possible recent find of a once rare chip which was really my question. I've learned to live with the situation. However my real pet peeve are sellers who quote the rarity figure in the "Official" guide knowing that the number isn't accurate. The seller's rationale is that they are merely quoting a fact. In my view, by quoting the rarity figure, the seller is being knowingly deceptive. Any opinions? My email is alex345{at}gmail.
