There are thousands of them. At the time, the chinese custome was unknown to me. There ain't many Chinese in SOUTH EAST TEXAS! Most of the Hell banknotes are obviously not real, but this one had signatures and a serial number as well as a quality printing. I suppose they are still used but I see them as novelties now. The Chinese guy explained the ritual and it is quite involved, not only money but food, clothing and other items are 'sent' to the deceased for the after life. Yea, Heaven~Hell, same concept, pay for your misdeeds on earth. I now have a 'collection' of 4~5 other hell banknotes, none of which look as good as my first one, plus I was a inexperienced kid then too.
