Made it today. 15 hours and 250 miles driving... I'm pooped! Spent the first couple hours hangin' iron so's I could drive the 1 mile to I-5 and then taking off the triple-railers. Triplerails are tire chains configured so that one set wraps a dual set of wheels and tires... use them on your drive axles. didn't see any real catastrophies on the road today, a few bewildered drivers wondering how they'd managed to end up nose down and rear up. Very tricky conditions and I needed all my winter driving whiskers today. Managed my yearly "How to install tire chains" class for a fella this evening. Learn something and pass it on, right?
Seriously though, keep safe out there chippers. Steer into the skid and NEVER stare into the crash!
