I see that you have the PL:?? little ACORN too. Did you get yours from CW? He is no longer listing chips on ebay because of the new MUST OFFER PAY PAL policy. He has them in the 4th Street Antiques store in Tombstone. It's about 30 miles from here. The chip in the second row - third chip... It looks like it could be the ACJ Acorn that is not listed in the '98 AGC book with the with the root heart at the stem & the extra XXXXs on the nut cap... I might have a few more of them in WHITE and maybe one in RED if you would like one let me know.
I read your response from yesterdays post on the RED Embossed INDIAN chip. The chip is a gem for sure. I am also sure that the chip pre dates the 1913 Indian Head Nickel and I have little doubt in my mind that Fraser made the mold for the chip. I know it is just speculation but... If Fraser was going to art school in Chicago in 1890, he would probably need a job, and with an Art school four blocks away from Nafew & Company, where would you think they would go to recruit their artists? Now stay with me and this is pure speculation, if you were a 15 year old Fraser and you were employed at a poker chip factory in lets say 1891... and you just happened to have a limestone carving of an Inian in your pocket... wouldn't you want to just whip one of those babies up on the graveyard shift during your lunch break? lol... nawww... Me either! Again thanks for sharing your very rare chips Roy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Earle_Fraser_(sculptor)
