Janice has been transferred back to the original hospital and is in ICU. On
Wednesday Jerry had received a phone call at 6AM advising of the transfer. At
the extended care facility she had developed life threatening complications and
was in very serious condition. Yesterday she underwent another surgery to clean
up infections that were not caught at the extended care facility. It was also
found that she has not been healing properly from her heart surgery. As of this
morning she is stable but not out of danger. She may need some additional
surgery to correct things that were not being treated properly. At the moment
the medical professionals feel very optimistic regarding her outcome. Janice is in good
spirits and Jerry is hanging on. Being in ICU she cannot have visitors at this
time. We will advise when she can.
Janice had a series of chest x-rays but none of them evidently caught the fact
that her chest and rib bones were not healing and had deteriorated. She was kept
on medication that should have been stopped. At least at the present hospital
she is receiving a lot better care and they will keep her there even after she
is out of ICU.
There are evidently many medical personnel in this country that are not properly
qualified to do their job and by doing so put patients at very great risk.
If you have a friends or relative in an extended care facility or nursing home
make sure they are being cared for properly.
