The casinos around the edge of the plate are 10 of the first 13 resorts built on the strip. The Stardust was the 13th to open, in 1958...though it was almost ready to open in 1956 when the builder, Tony Cornero dropped dead while shooting craps at the Desert Inn. Don't know if they'd put a picture of an "under construction" or "construction stopped" casino on a plate? So that probably puts it at 1958 or later.

At first I thought that the 3 of the first 13 resorts that aren't pictured would give another clue on the date...The Royal Nevada was closed by 1958, and the El Rancho Vegas burned down in June of 1960. BUT...the Thunderbird isn't pictured either, and it was open until 1974...so I guess there's not really a clue there.

It's still a nice plate!
