Yes....It happens to me 'more often than not' when I bid on a (current) chip on eBay.
It kinda goes right along with my recent postings about SSBF's.
I'm not the high bidder in the auction... in fact, I don't even care about buying the $25 Cure chip. I just placed a couple of (minimum) bids on it and was immediately 'outbid' by a proxy bid.
Now before ANYONE gets their "panties in a wad", read VERY carefully! I placed a couple of bids.... hoping/knowing that I would not eventually be the high/winning bidder. BUT, if I HAD BEEN the high/winning bidder, I would have followed through on my legal and contractual obligations and paid the seller and bought the chip. I would then have turned around and re-sold it to someone who places some value on it. The FACTS surrounding this chip and its release have sullied it in my mind - I would not want to own one.
