A few weeks ago my wife, my son and I went to a little fishing lake near our home so my son could play with his R/C Jet Ski. After a while I talked him into letting me take the controls. This little lake is filled with submerged trees and stumps and I hit a branch that was at water level just perfectly and the jet ski flipped over. It soon began to sink, slowly but surely. This was early May and the water was freezing cold still. Besides, it is kind of a nasty little lake with all those submerged trees and I was trying to figure out how to get the jet ski out without getting in myself.
My son is starting to cry because he is fixing to lose his jet ski, my wife is insistent that I swim out and get it before it sinks. I'm not yet sure that it is worth $75 to swim out there or not. You can imagine the scene. Anyway, I find a long stick and decide that maybe I'll wade out up to my knees and reach the thing with a stick. No way. I wasn't 3 feet from shore when all of a sudden it was WELL over my head. As you can see from the photo, I rescued the jet ski. My wife could hardly take this picture because she was laughing so hard. <g>
