"I guess I spoke too soon with our last update.
This morning's blood test revealed a very high white blood cell count of 21,000, for Greg. Normal is under 10,000 and usually people run 5 or 6,000, according to the doctor. The high white count tells him Greg has an infection and now he's running other tests from the lungs, blood, and urine to determine its source. The "good" news of this is that Greg is in our local hospital in Wellington, Sumner Regional Medical Center, 1323 North A Street, and that he shouldn't be here but a couple of days. Doc's not making any promises, though, until he learns the cause of the infection.
He's been placed on an antibiotic and IV fluids again to fight it for now. The infection helps explain Greg's and my perception that 5 days after release the hospital he seemed weaker, not stronger. We weren't just imagining things!
Best wishes to all. Please know we appreciate every prayer, kind gesture and thought and know too that you're in our continued prayers of thanks to our generous and loving Lord.
