Sharon, Here's my best guess
In Response To: Re: mgm pewter mug ()

Sharon, I don't think the MGM mug would be worth more than $50.

Here is my reasoning behind my value.

1. Odd collectibles like your mug may or may not have any value, eBay would be the best place to test the market on the mug. If you can find a couple of bidders who really want it, the mug might go for a lot more.

2. There is no proof that the mug was melted by the fire at the MGM Grand, unless you have a picture of the mug in the casino, I don’t think you can truly tie it to the casino fire (no proof that someone didn’t melt it at home). A picture once again would help.

3. There is no “magic guide” for everything that comes out of a casino. The market of “odd or unique” items is only based on what someone would pay for it. Today you might get $5 or tomorrow you might get $500 for it. Because it came from a tragic day in casino history doesn’t mean the mug is worth a lot of money.

If you’re looking to sell it, go to eBay and let the market decide the value, if it’s a value you’re looking at I don’t think you’re going to get the “exact” value for the mug.
