That "scrimshander" may not have "scrimshawed" on

... African elephant ivory if he is in New England or in Palinland, grin but rather whale bone or walrus tusk. I've been to a few meets (International Ivory Society) where these guys can tell you blindfolded what they've got. I will agree it's SCRIMSHAW, though... and not carvings.

You carve wood, not ivory... IMO. grin
