First let me say that Palm Beach County is not only the largest county in Florida; it's the largest county in the lower 48, east of the Mssissippi River.

There are only 10 locations to vote other than the Supervisor of Elections Office.

I went to the Wellington location wich is only a short drive from my home here in the western community of the county. The next location westbound is in Belle Glade; 32 miles away. Which means that those who live in the Belle Glade area would have to drive no less than 32 to 40 miles for their second location choice...

As I turned the bend on to the road where the polling location was, there were 6 units from the PBSO directing the flow which was turning people away from entering the polling complex on to roadside parking which was a few thousand feet away from the polls.

Once I approaced the complex on foot, there was a long line... and those who were exiting told those in line that it's about a 2-hour wait. It turned out to be only be 92-minutes from when I fist got in line to when I walked out the door. Though, while in line, the Obama camp was kind enough to supply bottled water, sunglasses, hats and umbrella to protect those who were standing in the sun. I was a bit stunned that the Obama posters were all over the complex propety along with a few McCain posters...

It was rather an enjoyable 90-minute wait while neighbors from afar got to visit discussing current events; which most did seem to be newspaper readers and not FOX and CNN viewers... since most did fully understand the bottom-line numbers regarding tax structure, while the economy seemed to be the dominant subject.

The actual voting process was less that 7-minutes, and walking out the door afterwards was the most beautiful feeling I had since the last time I voted... I saw the same on everyone's face as well.

It looked like everyone just wanted to hug each other, kind of...

...but of course I didn't dare;

thats all I needed,

someone yelling out "RAPE."
